Olson Benefit Group, LLC was founded in 2006. Our firm partners with and provides employee benefit programs to companies in the Washington, DC area and nationwide.
Meet The Team
Julie Olson
President & CEO
Julie Olson has more than 25 years of experience as a benefits broker and consultant. With background in business and finance, she developed a strong foundation in risk management and product knowledge during her early career as a benefits underwriter.
She soon moved into the brokerage business, using her education and a drive to develop customer relationships through strategic problem-solving and a thoughtful approach to service. She has worked with clients ranging in size from start-ups to thousands of employees including professional firms, schools, non-profits, consultants, and government contractors.
Julie founded Olson Benefit Group in 2006 to closely partner with a select group of clients. Her purpose, then and now, is to develop and implement tailored benefit strategies and systems that align with and complement the functional goals of her clientele. Julie's ongoing desire to care for and attend to the needs and concerns of her clients has made her a trusted advisor and long-term partner to many organizations.
Kara Burditt
Director of Client Services
Kara Burditt is a licensed broker with extensive Human Resources and Benefits Administration consulting experience. Since she joined Olson Benefit Group in 2019, she has helped advise and develop strategic programs and processes in her role as Director of Client Services.
Prior to becoming a broker, Kara worked as a National Large Business Consultant for Paycom Software, Inc. where she focused on providing exceptional service and guidance to the top 1% of of clients by revenue. She also served on internal product committees, geared towards developing efficient technological solutions based on direct client feedback and utilization. She received the highest honor in her role, achieving 100% client retention during her years at Paycom.
In her cross-country travels as a national consultant, Kara worked with hundreds of clients from California to Connecticut and everywhere in-between. She later found a home and new opportunity in her favorite travel destination. Kara earned a BA in Psychology from the University of Texas in Austin where she lived for 8 years before moving to DC.
